Leaders and stakeholders from Ozoro and Otor-Owhe Kingdoms in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously thrown their weight behind Sir (Builder) Blessing Oghale Obomovo as their preferred candidate for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obomovo, a renowned Nigerian international builder, real estate developer, and Chief Executive Officer of Standout Properties Limited, is also a frontline aspirant in the race.

The endorsement which cuts across political affiliations and positions was reached during a well-attended gathering at Opute hall in Ozoro, where political leaders, traditional authorities, women groups and youth representatives converged in a show of unity and purpose to welcome home their illustrious son, Obomovo.

Obomovo, an All Progressive Congress (APC) aspirant, who hails from Otor-Owhe Kingdom paternally and Ozoro kingdom maternally, is vying for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

The unity of the kingdom was further demonstrated by the endorsement from all five blocs of Ozoro, Uroto, Erovie, Etevie, Urude and Orumudhe which jointly adopted Obomovo as their preferred candidate. Erovie, identified as the maternal home of the aspirant, played a central role in the gathering, reinforcing the deep-rooted connection between Obomovo and the kingdom.

The people thanked and commended Obomovo for throwing his hat into the ring for the Isoko federal constituency seat come 2027, and assured him all the necessary support he deserved.

The people of Ozoro while describing Obomovo as a true son of the kingdom, they unanimously endorsed him as the consensus choice of the kingdom, ahead of other aspirants, including the incumbent lawmaker, Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko for the 2027 general elections.

With all organs of leadership represented and in agreement, Friday Arah formally moved the motion for endorsement, which was seconded by Sir (Chief) Raphael Oro Afemari (JP). The representative of the Ovie, Chief Solomon Akeni, then put the question to vote for the people of Ozoro Kingdom, saying “Should we support Sir Bldr. Blessing Obomovo?” and followed with a thunderous “YES!” echoed across the hall.

At the event, stakeholders described the endorsement as a defining moment for Ozoro Kingdom, stressing that it reflected a collective resolve to present a credible and widely accepted candidate to represent the Isoko nation at the green chamber.

Speaking on behalf of the people, the President-General of Ozoro Progressive Union, Berkley Asiafa, said the kingdom had spoken with one voice and would mobilise its full political strength to ensure Obomovo’s victory at the polls.

Asiafa noted that the endorsement was not merely symbolic but a commitment by the people to rally support across communities and ensure that their collective aspiration translates into electoral success.

The endorsement also received the backing of key traditional and community institutions, including palace representatives led by Solomon Akani; the Odiologbo of Erovie, Odio Tobi; and the Oletu-logbo of Ozoro Kingdom, Oletu Egbamuno.

Women and youth groups were not left out, with Ewheya leadership under Comfort Ikrege and youth representatives led by Marvis Ogbu affirming their commitment to mobilise grassroots support for the aspirant.

The event, which also hosted members of the OghaleIsoko2027 political structure, was marked by a strong sense of consensus, as speakers repeatedly emphasised the need for unity, inclusiveness and strategic positioning ahead of the elections.

Speaking at the event, Chief Raphael Oro Afemari (JP), the Adhesie of Ozoro, expressed confidence that Obomovo would remain committed to the people and never abandon the kingdom.

In his remark, Blessing Obomovo, expressed deep gratitude to the Ozoro kingdom’s traditional ruler, the leadership, and the people of Ozoro for the overwhelming and historic support and pledged not to take their trust for granted, even as he promised fair and respectful representation of the Isoko Federal Constituency. He emphasized his commitment to working with leaders and upholding the values and traditions of the land.

Obomovo noted that it was a home coming for him and thanked the people of Ozoro kingdom for the honour done him and his team of OghaleIsoko2027.

“Today, I returned home and Ozoro spoke. What began as a hosting of the OghaleIsoko2027 team became something deeper, something I will not forget in a hurry. It became a clear, a united declaration from my mother’s land. In one voice, the five blocs of the kingdom, Uruto, Erovie (my maternal home), Etevie, Urude, and Orumudhe, endorsed me as their sole candidate for the House of Representatives, Isoko North and South Federal Constituency.

“I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming show of love and confidence, further expressed through the presence and alignment of our respected leaders and community structures, including representatives of the Palace led by Chief Solomon Akeni; the Odiologbo of Erovie, Odio Tobi; the Ozoro Progressive Union led by Chief Berkley Asiafa (President General of OPU); the Oletu-logbo of Ozoro Kingdom, Oletu Egbamuno; Ewheya leadership under Mrs. Comfort Ikrege; the youth leadership led by Mr. Marvis Ogbu; alongside the Ajowa Isoko Women Group led by Princess Abigail Elo Oriri, SA Women Mobilization to the Isoko North LGA Chairman.

“This is not something I take lightly. Today was not just about support. It was a call to serve. A responsibility I carry with full commitment. Ozoro has spoken. And I hear you, loud and clear.

In a similar vein, at Otor-Owhe kingdom, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Obomovo’s paternal home town, what was meant to be a celebration soon took on the weight of purpose, as the community came together not just to welcome their illustrious son, but to openly stand behind his ambition for the House of Representatives seat representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency.

The entire kingdom, under the leadership of its general, Wilfred Atunu, alongside his executive and revered elders, described the political ambition of Obomovo as a welcom and timely development that aligned with the aspirations of the people.

The kingdom therefore unanimously endorsed Obomovo as the sole candidate for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat and followed by blessings and prayers offered by Ovuwoyen Avuakporie Godwin (aka) Dr pijo, the Oletu-logbo of owhe clans/ Kingdom.

In his brief remarks, Obomovo expressed deep appreciation to the people of Otor-Owhe kingdom for the confidence reposed in him and overwhelmed support from his paternal home home.

Obomovo while describing the action of the people of Otor-Owhe kingdom as overwhelming, humbling and motivating, promised never to disappoint them, adding that everyone will be carried along in the scheme of things when the time comes.

Present at the event were key stakeholders and institutions across the kingdom, including His Royal Majesty, the ovie of Ozoro kingdom Barr. Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo (Ibuka I) ably represented by Chief Solomon Akeni, the Odiologbo of Erovie, President General of the Ozoro Progressive Union, Odio Berkley Asiafa, Oletu-logbo of Ozoro community, Oletu Egbamuno; the Ewheya leadership under Mrs. Comfort Ikrege, youth leadership led by Mr. Marvis Ogbu, former President Generals of Ozoro, Chief Sunday Ejemite, Chief Raphael Oro Afemari (JP), and Chief Nicholas Areh, alongside prominent women leaders and mobilizers within the kingdom.
