The chief of naval staff, vice admiral Idi Abbas has congratulated officers of the Nigerian Navy for the success recorded in the exercise obangame express 2026.
Vice admiral Idi Abbas made the commendation at the close of the exercise in Port Harcourt.
The Naval Boss who was represented by the Chief of Operations naval Headquarters Rear Admiral Patrick Effa explained that the Nigeria navy is tasked with the responsibility of providing a secured maritime environment for the enhancement of trade and commerce in the country.
The chief of naval staff further charged officers to be professional in the discharge of their duties.
Our correspondent reports that activities performed during the exercise include interception of illegal bunkering ships, checking for illegal and unregulated fishing activities as well as fire fighting exercise amongst others.
