
As part of measures to encourage Labour Leaders in the state, the Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, Edo State Council has celebrated some Labour Leaders in Edo state.
The event held at the Edo State Civil Service club, off Ikpopan road , of the Government Reserved Area, GRA Benin City , featured goodwill messages and award presentation to some distinguished Labour Leaders in the state.

in a welcome address, Chairman, Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, Rattawu, Edo State Council, Comrade Ralph Ojekere said the event was organised to celebrate some Labour Leaders in the state who had distinguished themselves.
“The celebration of Leaders is more than a ritual of remembrance. It is a reaffirmation of the values of justice, dignity and solidarity that lie at the heart of every society.
Comrade Ojekere added that from the earliest struggles for fair wages and human working conditions to the modern campaigns for social protection and inclusive governance, Nigeria leaders have stood as courageous Voices for the Voiceless.

” As we celebrate tonight, let us remember that the work of labour leaders is never finished, each generation must carry forward the touch of fairness and dignity. May this award inspire others to continue the fight for justice in the workplace and may we all recommit ourselves to building a society where every worker is valued.”
Earlier, in a remark ,Edo State Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Chief Godwin Esheishe, said the award presentation was more than a ceremony but a testament to the values of hardwork, Unity and Leadership.
” As we celebrate today, let us reaffirm our collective resolve to strengthen partnerships between government, employers and labour unions so that they can build a future of prosperity, Justice and Peace.”
Edo State Chairman , Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Bernard Egwakhide in a goodwill message commended Rattawu, Edo State Council for the development.
Comrade Egwakhide appealed to labour leaders in the state to continue to live up to their responsibilities.
“May the celebration inspired continued unity, innovation and commitment to building a society where every workers voiced is heard and Valued.”
The award recipients were the Edo State commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Chief Godwin Esheishe, Edo State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Bernard Egwakhide, Edo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees,NULGE, Dr Scott Aigbovia, the Chairman of The Edo State Joint Negotiating Council, JNC, Comrade Oisamaiye Godwin and the Edo State NLC youth wing Chairman, Comrade Else Best- Idahosa.
