The Ibom Deep Sea Port Project has recorded a major boost as Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, led a high-level technical engagement with project partners and investors in Paris, France.

The meeting brought together officials of the Akwa Ibom State Government and representatives of Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Group to review progress on the strategic maritime infrastructure project.

A key focus of the session was the Technical Feasibility Report recently submitted by global engineering firm Worley Parsons. Participants examined critical issues relating to project viability, investment opportunities, implementation strategies and long-term sustainability.

Governor Eno reiterated the commitment of his administration to the realization of the Deep Sea Port and stressed the need to fast-track the next phase of the project.

The Governor called for clear timelines, measurable milestones and actionable steps that would move the initiative from the planning stage to execution.

Stakeholders at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to the successful delivery of the project, which is expected to drive economic growth, attract investments and create employment opportunities.

When completed, the Ibom Deep Sea Port is projected to strengthen Akwa Ibom State’s position as a major maritime, trade and logistics hub in the Gulf of Guinea, while enhancing Nigeria’s blue economy potential.
