Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has urged corps members to be responsible and selfless in their service as they dìsplayed in the Osun State Governorship election.
Governor Fubara stated this during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch B Stream Two Corps members deployed to Rivers State at the Orientation Camp , Nonwa Gbam in Tai Local Government Area.
The Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State government, Dr Promise Oguzie advised them to avoid acts that will tarnish the image of NYSC and to see Rivers State as their home.
The NYSC State Cordinator, Mr Mosss Oleghe in his address, hailed the high level of commitment and dedication of Corps members during the orientation camp and also reminded them of the prominent role they are expected to play in the 2027 general election.
He urged corps employers to provide them with suitable accomodation and stipend.
Some of the Corps Members who spoke with our correspondent expressed readiness to serve selflessly and responsibly as they move to their places of primary assignment.
