Edo State Government has issued three weeks eviction notice to residents around the temporary site for the newly created Nigeria Army, eighty- three division Barrack at the Temgboga axis of Benin Metropolis.

Chairman,Edo State Public Property Protection Committee, Mr. Eugene Okolosei stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria after carrying out an assessment visit to the area.

Mr. Okolosei who explained that marking of the buildings in the area for demolition had commenced, expressed worry that over Seventy hectares of the land for the project had been encroached.

“We have served all of them, what we had there is about ninety seven hectares of land, the community have sold Seventy two hectares, remaining only twenty five. Now we want to make use of them for their own good , the soldiers are coming here to protect us, the land is no more there to be used”. He stated.

The Chairman,Edo State Public Property Protection Committee, advised residents to always verify from the Edo State Geographic information System, EdoGIS before purchasing any landed property as the committee Would not relent in its efforts to retrieve all Government lands acquired illegally.
