The Delta State Government has urged qualified youths across the state to take advantage of the ongoing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 2026 recruitment exercise and apply for enlistment into the service.
The call is being made through the State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment into the Military and Paramilitary Services, which is providing information on current recruitment opportunities to eligible young Deltans.
The Director-General, Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., urged qualified youths, parents, guardians and youth organisations to ensure that eligible candidates are aware of the opportunity and complete their applications before the deadline.
The recruitment exercise is for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC 47/2026) and covers the Tradesmen/Women and Non-Tradesmen/Women categories.
Under the published requirements, applicants for the Non-Tradesmen/Women category must be between 18 and 22 years, while those applying as Tradesmen/Women must be between 18 and 25 years.
Applicants are also required to meet the prescribed educational and physical requirements, including a minimum height of 1.66 metres for males and 1.63 metres for females. Candidates seeking enlistment under the Tradesmen/Women category must possess relevant trade or technical qualifications.
The application period runs from September 3 to October 14, 2026.

Oghenesivbe advised prospective applicants to carefully study the recruitment guidelines and ensure that all information and supporting documents submitted are accurate.
He also cautioned applicants against fraudsters, agents and unauthorised persons demanding payment or promising to influence the recruitment process, stressing that the exercise is free of charge.
The DG said the awareness drive was intended to ensure that eligible young Deltans have access to timely information on legitimate opportunities for military and paramilitary enlistment.
