The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved an increase in the monthly State allowance for National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members serving in the State from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000 with effect from August 1, 2025.
Governor Eno gave the approval during Day Two of the State Delivery Meeting, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo.
The Governor explained that the increase is to support the Federal Government’s ₦77,000 monthly allowance, helping corps members meet their basic needs and in line with economic realities.
He noted that this followed his recent approval for the reconstruction of the NYSC Orientation Camp at Ikot Itie Idung in Nsit Atai, as part of ongoing efforts to improve the corps welfare in the State.
Governor Eno expressed appreciation to corps members who have actively contributed to sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development.
