Akwa Ibom State house of Assembly has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done at Ibom International Convention Centre and Ibom International Hotel.
Chairman , House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, Dr Itorobong Etim, who led members of the committee on oversight visit on major government facilities across the state , noted that the level of execution of the projects aligns with funds appropriated for them.
She disclosed that the Convention Centre has reached about 60 percent completion and is expected to be finalized by August and handed over in September.

Dr Etim who is also the Member Representing Uruan State Constituency commended contractors as well as the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for embarking on what she described as a massive project.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary , Ministry of Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Udosen Udoh, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to delivering strategic projects capable of driving economic growth.
He noted that the committee’s previous visit in December 2025, as a demonstration of the lawmakers’ dedication.

the Permanent Secretary revealed that, in line with the Governor’s directive, the Ibom International Hotel is scheduled for completion by the end of July 2026, while the International Convention Centre is expected to be delivered by the end of August 2026, assuring that all necessary measures are being taken to meet the timelines.
Providing technical updates, the Project Manager for the Ibom International Convention Centre, Antoine Angle highlighted ongoing installation of the roof, development of the 5,000-capacity main auditorium, and construction of the VIP entrance.
He added that all materials required for completion have been procured, while electrical and technical installations are ongoing, with the amphitheatre nearing completion.
At the Ibom International Hotel project site, the Project Manager Elie Anjen disclosed that the 221-room facility has reached 75 percent completion.
He confirmed that procurement of all materials required for completion has been concluded.
