…As Governor Eno calls for massive turnout to welcome President

The Akwa Ibom State Government has declared Friday, November 6, 2026, a work-free day to enable residents, including civil servants, to participate in the reception of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his official visit to the state.

Governor Umo Eno, who made this known while addressing Government House Correspondents after inspection of some life touching projects ahead of the presidential visit, called on Akwa Ibomites across the 31 Local Government Areas to turn out en masse and give the President an overwhelming welcome.

Governor Eno, who described the visit as timely and significant, said the government and people of Akwa Ibom State were fully prepared to play host to the nation’s number one citizen, alongside his wife and members of the presidential entourage.

He urged residents to demonstrate their support for President Tinubu and his administration, noting that the visit presented an opportunity for the state to express its appreciation and solidarity with the President’s leadership.

The Governor particularly directed residents to converge on the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, from 10 o’clock on Friday morning for a grand reception following the commissioning of projects scheduled for the presidential visit.

Drawing inspiration from the biblical account of receiving visitors, Governor Eno expressed optimism that the President’s visit would usher in positive developments for the state.

He also reaffirmed the people’s support for the President’s mandate, urging residents to demonstrate their enthusiasm through a massive and memorable turnout.

The presidential visit is expected to feature the commissioning of key projects and a grand reception at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
