Chairman, Edo state Public Property protection committee, Mr Eugene Okoloise has advised residents of the state to always verify from the state Geographic Information System EDOGIS office before making purchase of any landed property.
Mr Okoloise gave the advice
while playing host to Management of Radio Nigeria Bronze 101.5 FM, who were at his office on a courtesy visit.
Decrying, the high level of encroachment of Government lands by some residents of the state, he stressed that the Committee will not relent in retrieving all government lands illegally acquired as ignorance was not an excuse in law
Mr Okoloise commended Bronze FM for it’s quality news and programs maintained that the committee will continue to partner the station in sensitizing Edo state residents against encroachment of Government lands and destruction of Government Properties.
“Ignorance is not an excuse in law, you can’t say because you don’t know, you commit the offence there will be no punitive measures, I want to use this opportunity to reach out to our people, they are the reason why we are doing this , Job because Edo State Property belong to all of us, it’s not for one person, if they say public property it’s for the public and it will be proper for us to protect all the property that belongs to the public and that is why we are doing it, we will not be tired of doing it , as much as the Governor is working, we will be working.” He stated.
Earlier in a remark, General Manager, Bronze FM, Comrade Victorson Agbenson applauded the committee in the discharge of their responsibilities explained that the visit was to solicit for collaboration with the station.
“We commend you for what you are doing and we seek areas of partnership or collaboration. Radio Nigeria Bronze FM is a flagship station and we have been following the good work your committee is doing. ” He said.
Among the entourage were the Head of programs, Mr Fred Osemwengie, Head of Outside Broadcast, Mr Ken Eromobor, Head of Marketing, Mrs Justina Attah, and Head of Information Communication Technology, ICT, Mr Lucky Iyamu.
