Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the reassignment of two commissioners to oversee additional ministries following the resignation of two cabinet members.

Under the new arrangement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, will temporarily supervise the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development pending further directives from the government.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, has been directed to oversee the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.

This is contained in a statement by the Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu.

Aniagwu explained that the reshuffle became necessary after the resignation of the former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, and the former Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.

According to the statement, both former commissioners resigned their appointments to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly their plans to contest seats in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Governor Oborevwori, the statement added, commended the former commissioners for their contributions and dedicated service to the state, while wishing them success in their future political pursuits.

The government noted that the new supervisory appointments take immediate effect pending further announcements.
