Chairman of Edo State Consumer Protection Committee, Comrade Osaro Iyamu says enforcement on the sale of Sachet Gin in the state will commence tomorrow.
He stated this during a Courtesy Visit to Radio Nigeria’s Bronze 101.5 FM, broadcasting House at Aduwawa, Benin City.
Comrade Iyamu explained that the extension granted on the ban on Sachet Gin expired on Sunday, 20th September, 2026 , and anyone caught selling, hawking, or hoarding Sachet Gin in the state would be made to pay a prescribed fine while the products would be seized.
Highlighting the importance of Media in information dissemination, Comrade Iyamu said the reason for the visit was to seek partnership with Bronze FM in protecting the interest of consumers in the state.
” today we thought it wise to come to discuss and share areas of Mutual Collaboration in ensuring that fake and adulterated products are eradicated from our various spaces, Markets and Shops”. He said.
He used the opportunity to invite Bronze FM to the committee’s stakeholders and town Hall meeting slated for twenty ninth of this Month to have first hand knowledge of its activities.
The General Manager, Bronze 101. 5 FM, Benin City, Comrade Victorson Agbenson urged members of the Committee to remain committed in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Comrade Agbenson commended the Committee for its activities and promised to collaborate with the Committee to ensure effective service delivery for Consumers.
“My advice to you is that if you want to continue to succeed, you must put your feet down and insist on doing the right things. We will continue to work with you, we have already assigned a reporter to follow you guys. If you need airtime ,you let us know. Call on us anytime, we will answer you”. He stated.
