The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Prince Yekini Idaiye, has promised that Akoko-Edo Local Government Area will deliver an overwhelming victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.
Prince Idaiye, who gave the assurance at an APC rally in Ibillo, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, also said the local government would give the party the highest number of votes in the state.
He told the mammoth crowd that Governor Monday Okpebholo had done well for the local government area by curbing insecurity and appointing sons and daughters of Akoko-Edo into key positions in his government.
The Speaker stated that it was time for the people to reward the Governor with their votes and ensure all candidates of the party win in the upcoming elections.
Prince Idaiye, who is the member representing Akoko-Edo I Constituency, enjoined the people to rally round the Governor to actualize the 2.5 million-vote target for the party in the state.
He said: “I am standing here today as the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, to the glory of God and through the magnanimity of His Excellency.”
“Mr Kabiru Adjoto is seated here as the Executive Chairman, Local Government Service Commission; you have our brother here, Architect Emmanuel Fashanu, who is the MD of Edo State Public Buildings. We have two Commissioners, one seated here, Barr. Bisi Idaomi, and many others I cannot mention here. All this is due to the magnanimity of His Excellency.”
“The only way we can thank the Governor is to give the APC our votes. That is the only way we can appreciate him. I can assure His Excellency that the votes for APC from Akoko-Edo in January will be massive. All the leaders of Akoko-Edo are working to ensure massive victory for APC in the upcoming elections. I doubt if any local government will be able to challenge us. Your Excellency, we are going to prove it again,” he added.
