The Coordinator of the Office of the Akwa Ibom State First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has applauded women across the state for their active participation in the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries, describing their support as vital to the peaceful and successful outcome of the exercise.

Lady Obareki gave the commendation on Thursday during the May edition of the Akwa Ibom Women’s Prayer Service, themed “Supernatural Performance,” held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Uyo.

She thanked the women for their commitment throughout the primaries and urged them to sustain the same energy during the campaign season and the general elections to ensure victory for Governor Umo Eno and all APC candidates.

Expressing appreciation on behalf of Governor Umo Eno and the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Lady Obareki said the women’s individual and collective efforts contributed significantly to the success of the primaries.

She encouraged them to intensify mobilisation ahead of the elections, stressing that the level of dedication shown during the primaries should be surpassed during campaigns and voting.

Lady Obareki also disclosed that sanitary pads donated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for the “Flow With Confidence” programme had been distributed to 26 local government areas for vulnerable girls in rural communities. She urged the remaining five LGAs yet to collect theirs to do so without delay.

Delivering a sermon on the theme “Supernatural Performance,” Reverend Grace Idem charged worshippers to remain steadfast in faith, noting that God’s promises are sustained by His unfailing nature.

She said belief remains a catalyst for divine manifestation, adding that “for those who believe, there will be a performance.”

Rev. Idem highlighted three principles of expectation — See, Say and Set — urging believers to keep their eyes on God’s promises, speak words of faith and align their actions with their expectations.

Special prayers were offered during the service for peace, security and the continued success of the ARISE Agenda and the Patience Umo Eno Golden Initiative for All (GIFA), as well as for Governor Umo Eno, the Deputy Governor and Lady Helen Eno Obareki.

The service also featured worship by the Government House Divine Voices, thanksgiving by women born in May, presentation of gifts to female stakeholders, and the donation of solar lamps to GIFA in support of its planned climate change programme under its Improving Environmental Health initiative.
