The New NAPTIP Zonal Commander, Mr Ubong Ekwere, who made this known while parading 9 suspected human traffickers transfered to it by the Nigeria Police Akwa Ibom State Command, stated that the agency has extracted commitment and collaboration from the police command.

Mr Ekwere noted that in collaboration with the police there will be no room or hiding place for human traffickers in the State, urging them to turn a new leaf or face the wrath of the law.

He explained that the renewed commitment and relationship with the police will  strengthen synergy, intelligence gathering as well as resource sharing to rid the state of the menace.

While lamenting the rampant baby selling and buying in the state, Mr Ekwere promised that the cases at hand will be properly investigated and prosecuted to ensure that those found guilty serve punishment for the crime as a deterrance to others.

Mr Ekwere called for all hands to be on deck as the agency can not do it alone urging for more collaboration from all stakeholders including the state government to protect Akwa Ibom children from being trafficed.

Those paraded include 8 females and one male who were arrested by the police and handed over to NAPTIP
