The Minister of Federal Capital Territory FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike says Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC is beginning to fulfill the vision of the founding fathers.
Chief Wike who stated this while inaugurating over Nine Kilometers network of roads and magnificent one thousand five hundred capacity Town Hall, built by NDDC in Ogu Community Rivers State, expressed satisfaction over the speed of project delivery in recent times by the interventionist agency.
“I am overwhelmed, not just because of this Hall.
I have been to OGU before, but as we are coming, I’m happy because, the founding fathers of NDDC formed it to see how NDDC could be used to bring Development to communities that made up NDDC.
As we were just coming, all the roads in Ogu were being tarred with concrete.
Let me thank the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, if you don’t have a good working relationship with Executive Director Finance and Administration Boma Iyaye, this wouldn’t have been possible.”
Speaking at the event, Managing Director NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku maintained that the commission was determined to change the infrastructural status of Niger Delta region.
Dr. Ogbuku attributed the milestone achievements recorded by the commission to the support from President Bola Tinubu, National Assembly and other stakeholders.
“These projects that are being commissioned today are for the benefit of the people of Ogu Kingdom and a demonstration of what NDDC has been doing across the Niger Delta. This is just one of the projects, This is Renewed NDDC under the Renewed Hope of the Federal Government, led by president Bola Tinubu.
These are the things he has asked us to do for the people of Niger Delta and we are taking development to all the communities in the region”
In a welcome address earlier, the Executive Director Finance and Administration NDDC, Alabo Boma Iyaye described the Town Hall as a unifying factor for social and cultural activities in the locality.
The hall is fitted with fire fighting equipment, borehole, One thousand KVA Generator, enough packing space with solar light for proper illumination.
