A Non Governmental organization, Jose Maria Escriva Foundation has commended the Edo state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo for his infrastructural strides and the recent recruitment of five thousand qualified Teachers in the state.

The Chief Responsibility Officer Jose Maria Escriva Foundation, Dr. Jude Obasanmi gave the commendation at the 2025 review meeting of the Teachers Skills Enhancement Programme (T-SEP), a project designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Edo State held in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of the state.

“The Teachers Skills Enhancement Project, or TSEP, is one of our key education interventions funded by the TY Danjuma Foundation. It focuses on building the capacity of public primary school teachers in Esan Central and Esan West LGAs.
Our goal is that by 2027, about 300 teachers will have improved teaching skills, confidence, classroom management, and ICT competence — all of which directly improve learning outcomes for pupils.”

Earlier, in a message Chairman, Board of Trustees of Josémaria Escrivá Foundation (JOSEF), Mr James Agbogun represented by a board member , Elder Fabian Oigbichie reaffirmed the Foundations commitment to promoting quality education, health, and good governance.

A Representive of TYDanjuma Foundation Mr. Endurance Obasuyi, who spoke on behalf of the organizations State Coordinator,Ms. Tomi Ajayi lauded the enthusiasm of participating teachers.

He emphasized TY Danjuma Foundation’s commitment to supporting education, health, and maternal care initiatives, and assured that the Foundation would continue to partner with JOSEF to enhance the quality of basic education in Edo State.

Some Teachers at the event, including Mrs. Ehilenboadiaye Grace, from Esan West LGA, said since she began applying what she learned, classroom management and pupils performance have improved.

“Am truly grateful for this Teachers Skills Enhancement Program, since we began applying what we have learned, pupils are happier and enrollment has increased since 2023.”

The review meeting ended with certificate presentation , where participating teachers expressed gratitude to Edo SUBEB, TY Danjuma Foundation, and Jose Maria Escriva Foundation for empowering them to become better educators.

The Teachers Skills Enhancement Project is expected to continue until 2027, when a total of three hundred teachers across Esan West and Esan Central would have benefited, leading to more motivated teachers, and improved learning outcomes for children across Edo State.
