
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council, has urged journalists to report responsibly, prioritizing peace and the public good.
The State Chairman of NUJ Rivers Council, Comrade Paul Bazia -Nsaneh stated this when members of the League of Character Clubs International paid a courtesy visit to the Council at the Ernest Ikoli Press center, Port Harcourt.
According to a statement by the Council Secretary Dr Ijeoma Tubosia, Comrade Paul Bazia -Nsaneh also urged journalists to avoid sensationalism while underscoring the NUJ’s commitment to ensuring that media coverage contributes positively to the unity of the State.
He cautioned Journalists on the choice of words, noting that the stance of the council aligns with the ethical codes of journalism, which emphasizes truth, accuracy, fairness.
