The Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for strengthening collaboration between the Delta State and Federal Governments, a partnership it says has boosted access to federal interventions, accelerated infrastructure development, and enhanced economic reforms, investment promotion, and social welfare programmes across the state.
The Director General of the Bureau, Dr Fred Oghenesibve in a statement in Asaba to mark the Governor’s third anniversary in office, described Oborevwori as a visionary and transformational leader whose people-focused governance under the MORE Agenda has continued to deliver tangible results since assuming office in May 2023.
According to the Bureau DG, the administration has recorded remarkable achievements in road construction, healthcare, education, security, youth and women empowerment, sports infrastructure, job creation, and human capital development. These successes, it noted, have been driven by fiscal discipline, continuity in project execution, and sustained support for small businesses and entrepreneurship.
Oghenesibve stated that beyond infrastructure development, Governor Oborevwori has provided stabilising leadership that has fostered inclusiveness, strengthened stakeholder confidence, and created a conducive environment for sustainable development and private sector investment.
Highlighting the Governor’s strategic engagement with the Federal Government, Oghenesivbe said the administration’s growing intergovernmental cooperation has improved Delta State’s access to national development programmes and opportunities, yielding positive outcomes in infrastructure delivery, economic growth, investment attraction, and public service efficiency.
He also underscored its role in supporting the administration through strategic communication, citizen engagement, policy advocacy, public enlightenment campaigns, and awareness initiatives, including military and paramilitary recruitment exercises.
Among its flagship programmes are the Drug Free Delta Campaign, aimed at combating substance abuse through public education, school outreach, and community mobilisation, as well as the Delta State Strategic Communication Workshop, designed to strengthen governance communication among public officials and media practitioners.
Reaffirming the Bureau’s commitment to the Oborevwori administration, Oghenesivbe pledged continued efforts in public communication, civic engagement, and issue-based enlightenment as the state advances toward the 2027 electoral cycle.
“As the Governor continues to advance the MORE Agenda, the Bureau will remain steadfast in projecting government achievements, promoting public understanding, and supporting the vision of progress, prosperity, and sustainable development for Delta State,” he said.
The management and staff of the Bureau congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his third anniversary in office and wished him continued success, good health, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
