The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has congratulated Senators Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Ede Dafinone and Joel-Onowakpo Thomas on their resounding victories at the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Delta North, Delta Central and Delta South respectively.
In a statement issued in Asaba, Oghenesivbe described their emergence as a strong endorsement of their leadership credentials and commitment to the party, noting that it further strengthens the prospects for closer collaboration with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said Delta State is experiencing an unprecedented level of political unity and stability within the APC under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, with stakeholders across the three senatorial districts rallying behind a common vision for development.
According to him, the combined experience and public service records of the three senators position Delta to attract more federal projects, strategic investments and people-centred initiatives.
Oghenesivbe highlighted Senator Ifeanyi Okowa’s extensive contributions to governance, recalling his service as Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator and Governor of Delta State, roles through which he championed infrastructure, healthcare, education and human capital development.
He also praised Senator Ede Dafinone for his distinguished career as a chartered accountant and legislator, describing him as a committed advocate for economic reforms, infrastructure development and effective representation, while commending his loyalty to the APC and efforts in strengthening the party in Delta Central.
Similarly, he lauded Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for his achievements in public finance administration and legislative service, noting that his tenure as Executive Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue contributed significantly to boosting internally generated revenue, while his performance in the Senate has been marked by impactful bills and constituency projects.
The Bureau DG stressed that the three lawmakers share a commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, expressing confidence that their partnership would accelerate development across the state.
He stated that Governor Oborevwori has built one of the most united and politically stable APC structures in Nigeria and that the emergence of the three senators provides an opportunity for stronger executive-legislative synergy in the interest of Deltans.
According to Oghenesivbe, such collaboration would enhance the delivery of federal projects, improve infrastructure, expand youth and women empowerment programmes, strengthen security partnerships and create greater economic opportunities across Delta North, Delta Central and Delta South.
He further commended Governor Oborevwori for his prudent management of state resources, inclusive leadership and effective coordination of party affairs, which he said have continued to broaden support for the APC in Delta State.
The Bureau DG called on party faithful and residents of the state to remain supportive of the governor and other elected leaders while praying for wisdom and guidance as they work together to promote peace, unity and sustainable development.
