The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has congratulated Orobosa Ashakah and Frank Ozue on their emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the Isoko North Constituencies 1 and 2 seats in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Ogorugba, in a statement, commended the peaceful and successful conduct of the APC primary elections held on August 22, 2026, describing the exercise as a positive development and a clear demonstration of stakeholders’ commitment to democratic values.

He said the primaries had shown the importance of allowing party members and delegates to freely exercise their choices in a peaceful, transparent and orderly atmosphere, adding that the outcome would further strengthen democratic practice and public confidence in the electoral process.

The council chairman particularly commended the people of Isoko North Constituencies 1 and 2 for their peaceful disposition throughout the exercise, noting that the absence of rancour, violence and other forms of electoral misconduct was worthy of commendation.

He also applauded the delegates for exercising their democratic rights by voting for Ashakah and Ozue, saying their emergence had demonstrated the political maturity, consciousness and responsible disposition of the people of Isoko North.

Ogorugba urged the two candidates to regard their emergence not merely as a political victory, but as a call to greater responsibility and service to humanity.

He charged them to make the interests, welfare and development of their constituents their primary consideration as they prepare for the 2027 general elections, while promoting unity, peace and inclusive representation.

The chairman further advised Ashakah and Ozue to maintain close contact with the people and ensure that their campaigns focus on issues that directly affect the lives and wellbeing of their constituents.

Ogorugba also appealed to APC members and supporters who participated in the primaries but did not emerge as candidates to accept the outcome in good faith and unite behind the party’s flag bearers.

He stressed that the strength of any political party lies in its ability to accommodate divergent interests, resolve differences peacefully and rally behind its candidates after a transparent electoral process.

Earlier, the Returning Officer for the Isoko North State Constituencies primaries, Hon. James Agouye, PhD, declared Ashakah and Ozue winners of their respective contests after they secured the highest number of votes.

Agouye commended delegates and stakeholders in Isoko North for their peaceful conduct, which he said contributed significantly to the successful completion of the exercise.

He urged party members, delegates and voters across the council area to sustain the spirit of peace and sportsmanship demonstrated during the primaries, stressing that such an atmosphere would be essential for peaceful, credible and transparent elections in 2027.

The Returning Officer also charged the newly emerged candidates to remain committed to the people and conduct their campaigns in a manner that promotes unity, development and peaceful coexistence across Isoko North.
