Manager, Relations and Sustainable Development, Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, Mr. Igo Weli says the company is committed to the empowerment of host communities and promotion of Local content.
Mr. Weli who made this known in Port Harcourt Rivers State during stakeholders engagement with host communities insisted that the company would prioritize integrity and accountability in her operations.
Having perfected the acquisition of SPDC and consiquently the operations of Shell-NNPC joint ventures, Renaissance African Energy Company Limited put up the inaugural engagement with key stakeholders in her operational areas in Rivers State to introduce the new company to them and unveil the logo.
Addressing the people, Manager, Relations and Sustainable Development, Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, Mr. Igo Weli who expressed optimism of the capacity of the company to attain new heights in the energy sector, assured the stakeholders that Renaissance African Energy would take into consideration the yearnings of host communities to facilitate development of the localities.
Represented by Mr. Evans Krukrubo, Mr. Weli promised that the company would be transparent in her operations, saying that channels of communication would be opened to enable all stakeholders be on the same page.
Reacting to the development, the paramount Ruler of Rumuomasi, Eze, Ezebunwo Adiele admitted that the community enjoyed good rapour with Shell but requested that the new company offer permanent employment to the youths.
Similarly, the Chairman community Development Committee, CDC of Mgbesileru Community, Dr. Promise Iwezor, emphasized the need for the new company to improve on what the previous operators did and be intentional in the development of the people and the areas.
The respondents noted that Renaissance African Energy being managed by Africans would create room for more local content consideration.
The stakeholders engagement is expected to go round all the states where the company’s operations cover.
