World record holder in the 100meters hurdles, Tobi Amusan, is threading a new path on the flat track.

The Nigeria’s track and field queen, showcased her rising prowess in the 100meters dash, clocking a season’s best (SB) of 11.18seconds to finish 4th in the Women’s 100meters Final at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica.

The event, held in Kingston Jamaica, featured some of the fastest women in the sport. Amusan held her own in the competitive race, finishing just behind podium finishers Tina Clayton of Jamaica who won in 10.98seconds, followed by Jacious Sears of the USA in 11.04seconds, and Alana Reid of Jamaica in 11.16seconds.

Her shift toward sprinting began after the Tokyo Olympics, prompting her and longtime coach Lacena Golding-Clarke to relocate from the U.S. to Jamaica in late 2024. She now trains at the Racers Track Club under the legendary Glen Mills, mentor to sprint icons Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake.
