The Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, is to intensify partnership with State Universal Education Boards to achieve the mandate of the Commission.
Executive Secretary of UBEC, Aisha Garba, made the pledge at the opening of a two-day Retreat for Management Staff of the Commission in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital.

The UBEC Executive Secretary, who spoke to Journalists on the sidelines of the Retreat, said the Commission would devise means to collaborate more with the SUBEBs to ensure universal basic education for all Nigerian children.
“UBEC has been making significant contributions in ensuring universal basic education in Nigeria but there is room to do more. One of the key things that we are also doing in this retreat is to ensure that we find ways to bring the SUBEBs together so we can work together more effectively”.

Ms Garba said the Retreat with the theme, “ Re-positioning UBEC for Sustainable Basic Education Delivery in Nigeria”, was designed to review the progress in their service delivery and plan on how to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Tinubu Administration in the education sector.
“The retreat was designed to reposition the Commission to effectively deliver on the key priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration in the education sector by achieving Universal Universal Education for all Children in Nigeria regardless of their background or geographical location”.
The Universal Basic Education Commission is a Federal Governments Agency saddled with the responsibility of coordinating all aspects of UBE programme implementation aimed at providing greater access to, and ensuring quality of basic education throughout Nigeria.
