The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has donated three sets of dialysis machines to the management of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH.
Presenting the equipment on behalf of His Love Foundation (HLF), the RCCG’s Social Responsibility arm, a Cleric in the Church, Pastor Bode Olojede said the donation was made by the General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye as part of their commitment to supporting healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
Pastor Olojede explained that the Foundation was committed to addressing critical social needs in areas including healthcare, hunger, education, rehabilitation, prison ministry and social enterprise.
He emphasized that Pastor Adeboye and his wife had supported several national intervention programmes, including the construction of intensive care units and the establishment of Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centres in teaching hospitals and general medical centres across the country.
Receiving the equipment, the Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu, commended the General Overseer and his wife for the gesture, describing the donation as a significant contribution to improving renal healthcare services at the hospital.
Professor Ize-Iyamu said the donation would complement government investments in the healthcare sector and strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide dialysis services to patients with renal challenges.
The Federal Commissioner representing Edo State on the Federal Character Commission and a former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Victor Edoror,who joined the UBTH management in receiving the medical equipment commended Pastor Adeboye and his wife for their philanthropic interventions in supporting people living with renal challenges.
Mr Edoror, noted that the government alone could not address the healthcare needs of the country, urging other religious bodies and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
