NDDC TO PARTNER MANUFACTURING COMPANIES IN NIGER DELTA TO CREATE JOBS

The Executive Director Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Mr. Victor Antai says NDDC is ready to partner manufacturing companies in Niger Delta region to create job opportunities. 

Mr. Antai who made the pledge while on working tour to a starch manufacturing company in Sagbama, Bayelsa State, noted that the drive was to increase the production capacity of  the company.  

According to the EDP, NDDC intends to assist the company to access raw materials by establishing cassava farms within the locality to supply the produce to the company as well as provide food security. 

On her part, the Managing Director of the starch factory, Mrs. Tonye Ekiyor who said that the factory is producing at about thirty percent capacity presently added that the factory has a capacity of two hundred and fifty metric tons daily production capacity. 

Mrs. Ekiyor who solicited assistance from NDDC identified power and raw materials as the major challenges confronting the company. 

The starch factory boss appreciated NDDC for showing interest and expressed hope that it would bring the needed turn around  to enable the factory meet up with several waiting demands across the nation.
