6 DIVISION NIGERIAN ARMY RAIDS ILLRGAL BUNKERING SITE WITH OVER FIVE MILLION LITRES CAPACITY IN RIVERS STATE

Nigerian Army has discovered an illegal bunkering site with  capacity of five million litres of crude oil in Obuama Community, KOMKOM, Oyigbo Local Government Area,   Rivers State. 

The General Officer Commanding,  Six Division Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam who took journalists round the large expanse of land harboring the refinery expressed displeasure over the activities of vandals. 

Major General Abdussalam who  explained that the perpetrators were determined to sabotage the economy of the nation through their illegal oil deals, vowed that Nigerian Army would redouble efforts to apprehend the sponsors of the set up. 

Major General Abdslsalam  who is also the Land Component Commander South-South, Operation Delta Safe,  encouraged youths to embrace legitimate businesses, warning that   no one found to be engaged in oil theft would be spared, no matter their status in society. 

The GOC said that the confiscated products would be handed over to relevant agencies for further action. 

Other items also  seized were over  five wooden boats of about two thousand litres capacity each, laden with adulterated petroleum products.
