Corps members urged to impact host communities positively

Rivers State government has re-assured National Youth Service Corps members of maximum security and guaranteed welfare across the length and breath of the State.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara stated this at the Closing ceremony of 2024 Batch A Stream Two orientation course for Corps Members deployed to the State at the NYSC permanent camp, at Nonwa-Gbam in Tai Local Government Area.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Hamilton Amadi, Governor Fubara charged the Corps Members to be role models in their places of primary assignment and identify the felt needs of their host communities as well as initiate impactful development service projects.

While delivering his speech, the Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. George Mfongang said the corps members posted to the state have been outstanding in the past three weeks of orientation exercise and ready to be catalysts  of positive change and nation builders.

Mr. Mfongang thanked the Nonwa and Gbam communities for their support in ensuring a peaceful environment for the smooth and seamless conduct of the orientation exercise and the Rivers State Governor for his support to the Scheme especially, in paying State Allowance to all Corps Members.

Some of the corps members described the orientation camp experience as satisfying while some cried about being posted to riverine areas.
