Chairman, Edo state Public Property Protection Committee, Mr Eugene Okoloise has advised Residents to avoid sales and the Encroachment of public properties in the state.

He gave this advise in a Chat with Radio Nigeria in Benin.

Mr Okoloise who explained that modalities have been put in place to ensure that all public properties in the state are protected from Encroachment, appealed to Residents to always verify landed property from the Edo state Geographic Information System, EDOGIS office, before making purchase.

“Before you buy any land from any body in Edo state, please go to Edo GIS to find out the status of the land that you are buying so that you will be safe, because if you take Government land , if will find out,we will take it back he stated”.

Mr Okoloise who decried the activities of some youth leaders known as Okaighele in some communities across the state in the sales and Encroachment of Government Properties said the committee in the past one year, has helped recover several Public Prosperities.

” Alot of Government lands across various communities in Edo state have been sold by various communities youth leaders known as Okaighele, and we have been able to retrieve them he said.
