
The Edo State Consumer Protection Committee has extended its deadline for the enforcement of raid against Sachet Alcohol Beverages in the state to September 20th, 2026.
This is to allow traders return the products in their possession to the manufacturers.
The state Director General of the Committee, Mr Osaro Iyamu in a statement on his verified social Media handle, explained that the development was the outcome of the meeting held with representatives of United Beverages Dealers Association and Edo State Sachet Alcohol Beverages Distributors Association.
It says within the grace period, no dealer or individual was permitted to sell sachet gin products in their possession as the Products must only be returned.
According to the statement, no person or group was permitted to harass dealers of sachet gin within the approved extension period.
It urges all dealers to take advantage of the period to comply as Consumer safety remains their priority.
