Akwa Ibom State house of Assembly has announced the Member representing NSIT UBIUM State Constituency , Mr Otobong Bob as the Leader of the House.
The Speaker of the house, Elder Udeme Otong made the announcement during plenary today.
Mr Bob of the ruling party APC replaces the former leader, and member representing Onna, Mr Sunday Johnny of the minority Party PDP.
The former Leader, Mr Johnny, lost his position following his decision to stay with PDP formerly a majority party in the House, which is now left with only 2 members, himself and Member representing Etinan , Mr Uduak Ekpo Ufot.
24 out of 26 members including the Speaker had all defected to the APC recently, making the APC party a majority in the House.
Also, the member representing Eket, Dr. Nsidibe Akata is the new Deputy Leader. He replaces Otobong Bob who until now held the office.
