
The lawmaker representing Oshimili South in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Bridget Anyafulu, has secured the All Progressives Congress ticket for her re-election in 2027 general elections.
At the party direct primary election which held across all the wards in Oshimili South local government area, there was massive turnout of registered members who conducted themselves orderly.
APC members unanimously endorsed Bridget Anyafulu, as the party’s sole candidate in all the party voting centres.
At Ugbomanta Ward 8, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, where the lawmaker participated in the peaceful and hitch free exercise, party members turned out in large number to endorse Hon Bridget Anyafulu.
She described the direct primary process as transparent, inclusive, and driven by the people, commending the party leadership for providing a level playing field that encouraged active participation by members.
The lawmaker, who emerged unopposed in the constituency, said the overwhelming show of support demonstrated the confidence and acceptance she enjoys among party members and constituents.
She also lauded the conduct of the primaries, noting that the direct primary system helped reduce unnecessary financial burdens on aspirants while giving grassroots members the freedom to choose their preferred candidates.
According to her, the exercise further reflected the steady growth of democratic culture in Nigeria, stressing that credible leadership can only emerge through active participation by the people.
Looking ahead to another tenure, Hon. Anyafulu assured constituents of improved representation, saying the experience and lessons gained during her first term would enable her deliver better results.
She noted that governance remains a continuous learning process that thrives on regular engagement with the people, adding that constructive criticism and community interaction have significantly shaped her leadership approach.
The lawmaker also expressed appreciation over the impressive turnout of supporters despite her emergence as a consensus candidate, describing it as a clear indication of her strong grassroots connection.
She emphasized the need for leaders to remain accessible to the people at all times, maintaining that effective representation requires patience, understanding, and sustained engagement with constituents
