
President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, has emerged winner of the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State with a total of 389,197 votes.
Declaring the result at the State Collation Centre, Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, who served as the State Collation and Returning Officer, congratulated President Tinubu on the overwhelming victory and commended citizens for the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state.
Governor Eno urged members of the APC to begin mobilising support ahead of the 2027 general election to ensure a resounding victory for the party.
Speaking shortly after the declaration, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, praised Governor Eno for fostering peace and stability in the state, describing the atmosphere during the primaries as unprecedented.
Senator Akpabio recalled that in previous years, party primaries in the state were often characterised by violence, intimidation, harassment, killings and destruction, but noted that the current exercise was conducted peacefully.
He maintained that Akwa Ibom people were supporting Governor Eno’s second-term bid based on his performance and commitment to sustaining peace and development in the state.
