The Director, NYSC South South Area Office Two, Port Harcourt, Mr. Philip Enaberue has urged corps members to be intentional about making positive impact in their service year.
Enaberue stated this today at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai, when he addressed the 2026 Batch A Stream II corps members during his oversight visit to the camp.
He urged them to see their mobilization as a rare privilege that places greater responsibilities on their shoulders as nation builders and elite youths.
“Speaking further, Mr. Enaberue advised them to heed the instructions passed to them by the camp officials as they are “critical and crucial to their successful service year.”Continuing, he further advised them to key into the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program wholeheartedly in order to “economically empower themselves and achieve financial stability.
“Mr. Enaberue concluded by advising them to avoid unauthorized journeys, especially night travels, wrong use of social, disrespect to the culture and tradition of the people of their host community and other related vices that can tarnish the image of the NYSC Scheme.
Earlier, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe had informed the Director that the Corps Members are disciplined, hardworking, and determined in actively participating in all camp programmes and activities.
He further informed him that the State Government is now set to construct a brand new 1000 capacity hostel each for male and female Corps Members to address the accommodation challenges faced in the camp.
Meanwhile, 2 platoon had stunned other platoons in the Gala Chinchin sponsored Miss NYSC and Mr. Macho competition for 2026 Batch A Stream II Corps Members deployed to Rivers State orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Declaring the Variety Night open, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe commended the Corps Members for “embracing the spirit of healthy competition,” as is evident with their active participation in all camp programmes and activities.
He appreciated the winners for their excellent performances, discipline, tenacity, and determination, which made them win.
The winners of Miss NYSC and Mr. Macho were rewarded for their efforts with a prize money of #100000.00 naira only amongst other gift items.
