It was an atmosphere of Joy, Laughter, Happiness and Celebration as Staff of Radio Nigeria’s Bronze FM, Benin City gathered to celebrate one of their own , the outgoing Head of News, Mr. Ojo Suleiman ahead of his retirement on June 13th, 2026.
The event which is the first retirement party to be organized since the establishment of the station fifteen years ago, had a large turn out of staff, friends and associates of the celebrant.
Some of them, Chinyere Onyeagba, Former Head of News of the station, and Ken Eromobor, Head of Outside Broadcast, described the outgoing Head of News, Ojo Suleiman as an epitome of humility worthy of emulation
” one remarkable characteristics of Mr Ojo Suleiman is his humility . His ability to come down to your level to relate with you to get what he wants is unimaginable “.
Others described the outgoing Head of News Mr Ojo Suleiman as an enigma who made indelible impact in the lives of staff within a short time
” His Benevolence and Humility is unmatched .Mr Ojo to me remains one of the most humbled personality have met in Radio Nigeria particularly in this Bronze FM since inception. There was a day I had health crisis here in this office , he did not only helped to get me to the Hospital , he followed me down to the hospital, he paid the Hospital bills. Uptil this moment he has not asked for a refund. A presenter, Mr Efosa Osawoyi said .
A reporter, Mr Solomon Obozunya said Mr Ojo impacted positively to members of staff within a short time.
“Mr Ojo is full of Wisdom and he is compassionate. He can manage, both the good , the bad and the Ugly “, he said.
On his part, Bronze FM’s General Manager, Comrade Victorson Agbenson stressed that Mr Suleiman Ojo was a diligent administrator and humane while making decisions.
Comrade Agbenson advised staff to imbibe the steering qualities of the outgoing Head of News
“You have shown that you know people on how they work , the way they live and everything .That has reflected on the way you did your work at Bronze FM and it’s also a lesson to all of us at Bronze FM who are still in service to take our work seriously and deligently.”
The outgoing Head of News, Bronze FM, Mr. Suleiman Ojo advised members of staff to be dedicated, God fearing and respect constituted authority.
Highpoint of the event was prayers, Dancing and presentation of gifts to the outgoing Head of News.
Mr Ojo Suleiman who will clock sixty on June 13, 2026 joined Radio Nigeria in 1995 Abuja as an assistant language translator and rose to the position of Assistant Director News.
