
Fifty businesswomen in Delta State have been empowered with one hundred thousand naira each as a support grant to grow their businesses.
The Empowerment Programme tagged; ” Chybee Africa Festival of Culture and Fashion; The beauty of Africa: celebrating culture and fashion was held in Asaba, Delta State.
Beneficiaries of the empowerment who expressed gratitude to the organizers gave assurances that they would invest the money to expand their businesses.

The convener of the empowerment programme and founder, Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women, Lady Chinyere Chukwudi-Zimako, described entrepreneurs as the drivers of economic transformation , and noted that her passion was to see women who are hardworking, and go into businesses to support their families and also contribute to the economic growth.
She hinted that the foundation was not only giving out financial assistance but also training and monitoring the beneficiaries with her team members to ensure that the grant are used judiciously.
Lady Chukwudi-Zimako said ,”Africa culture is a treasure trove of stories, traditions, music, art, and values passed down through generations. and it reminds us of our roots and identity, and that fashion, an integral part of our culture, is a powerful language that speaks unity in diversity.”
”The economic benefits of Africa culture and fashion are undeniable. Nigeria’s fashion industry has become a significant contributor to our economy, by creating jobs and opportunities for designers, artisans, and entrepreneurs.”

According to her; “I am an entrepreneur, I love people in business, as you all know, entrepreneurs are the drivers of economy transformation.”
“I support small and medium scale businesses, I want our women to be hardworking, to go into business so that they can support their families and also contribute to the economic growth.”
The Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads, and Public Information, Mr.
Delta State Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads, and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, who commended Chybee Foundation for encouraging young women at their best in what they do, particularly in the world of design and fashion, said the gesture was in line with the State Governor’s MORE AGENDA of empowering Deltans with skills, starter packs and financial assistance to become business owners.
“I wholeheartedly appreciate Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation not just extending awards to deserving individuals but also helping to promote our cultural heritage and at the same time encouraging our young women to be at their best in what they do.”
“What she is doing today is what our government has continued to preach that whoever that is in position to help should do so that we have a better society because it will be a mistake for you to think that the government will do everything or get everybody engaged.”
Also, the Chairman, PWAN group, Dr. Augustine Onwumere, a recipient of “Icon of Employment Award”, described Lady Chinyere Chukwudi as an angel sent by God to improve the lives of women.
He said empowerment helps to build par capital index of the economy, and GDP of a country.
Highpoint of the ceremony which featured awards presentation to some prominent Nigerians including the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Epiphany Azinge, and the Delta State Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu ,were inspection of products by the beneficiaries as well as cheques presentation, and cultural performances.
