Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has commended members of the All Progressives Congress for the peaceful conduct of the House of Representatives primary election held across the state.

Speaking shortly after participating in the nomination exercise at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Governor Eno praised party faithful for their orderly conduct during the exercise.

The Governor said reports received from various parts of the state, alongside his personal observation, indicated that the primaries were free, fair, and transparent.

He congratulated winners that emerged from the exercise across the state, particularly Paul Ekpo, who secured victory in Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II.

Governor Eno also used the occasion to formally consult with members of his ward ahead of future political engagements and urged residents to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu, himself, Aniekan Bassey, Obong Paul Ekpo, and Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob.

The Governor further informed party members that the Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed voter registration nationwide and encouraged eligible citizens who are yet to register to take advantage of the exercise.

He commended APC faithful across the state for their massive turnout during the congresses and reassured the people of his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance and development.

Earlier, the APC State Deputy Chairman, Mr. Aniekan Ekpo, applauded Governor Eno for what he described as quality leadership and infrastructural transformation across Akwa Ibom State.

According to him, the people of Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II remain committed to supporting the Governor’s re-election bid and all APC candidates in future elections.

Also speaking, the political leader of the ward, Obong Friday Akpan, appreciated the Governor for his human capital development initiatives and infrastructural projects in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, assuring him of continued political support from the ward.

In the same vein, the APC Ward Chairman, Hon. Jephter Tom, lauded the Governor for personally participating in the primary exercise and formally consulting his ward, describing the move as a demonstration of humility and leadership.

He highlighted several developmental achievements of the Governor within the ward and across the state, assuring that party members would mobilize massively to ensure victory for Governor Eno and other APC candidates in subsequent elections.
