The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening security collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, following a high-level meeting with the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.

Governor Eno made this known during a courtesy visit to the IGP at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The Governor congratulated the police chief on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as well-deserved and timely, given the current security demands across the country.


He commended the Nigeria Police Force for its resilience and dedication in maintaining law and order, as well as safeguarding lives and property nationwide.

Governor Eno explained that the visit was aimed at deepening cooperation between Akwa Ibom State and the police, particularly in the area of security management. He stressed that effective governance cannot thrive without a safe and secure environment.

“Security remains the bedrock of development. Our administration is committed to working closely with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to ensure sustained peace and stability in Akwa Ibom State,” the Governor stated.

Governor Eno further assured the IGP of his government’s continuous support, noting that collaboration with security agencies remains a top priority in his administration’s development agenda.

The Governor added that the visit symbolizes a renewed commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships that will enhance security operations, not only in Akwa Ibom State but across Nigeria.

In his response, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the visit, describing it as a significant step towards reinforcing cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and Akwa Ibom State.

He commended Governor Eno for his developmental strides and acknowledged the state government’s consistent support for security agencies.

The IGP assured that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to partnering with state governments to improve security architecture and maintain peace across the country.
