The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has assented the N695 billion supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year recently passed by the State House of Assembly.

With the signing, the total budget size for 2025 now stands at ₦1.65 trillion, comprising ₦125,664,328,180 for Recurrent Expenditure and ₦569,335,671,820 for Capital Expenditure, incorporated into the original appropriation of ₦955 billion.

Governor Eno, who signed the bill during the Delivery Advisory Team Meeting held at Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, commended members of the State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill.

The Governor explained that the supplementary budget will enhance projects implementation and delivery across the State, giving an assurance that all hands are on deck to carry out their duties with probity and dedication for the benefit of all.

Governor Eno noted that the 2024 budget recorded impressive performance and has attracted some credit to the State, stressing that 2025 should do far better.

The Governor also called on Commissioners and Delivery Advisors to study the budget and ensure that appropriations to their Ministeries are well implemented.

He charged all project handlers to take advantage of the dry season, and assured that the government under his leadership will remain committed to effective service delivery and not be distracted.

Present at the signing were the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr Udeme Otong, Head of Service, Elder Effiong Essien; members of the State Executive Council, and other top government officials.
