
Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Wisdom Ikuli says the Yenagoa Independent Power Supply will revive many businesses and help residents save money for other purposes.
Addressing Newsmen after an assessment tour of construction works at the project site at Elebele, he gave an assurance that the December period given for the sixty Megawatts Gas Turbines for the supply of uninterrupted electricity to the State capital remain on course.

Engineers on site told Journalists that overall work on the project has progressed to about eighty five per cent completion rate.
Mr. Wisdom Ikuli pointed out that by the time the Yenagoa Independent Power Project commence uninterrupted electricity supply to the people of the State by the end of this year, it would bring about rapid socio-economic development in the Bayelsa State capital and adjoining parts of the State.

The Technical Adviser to Governor Douye Diri on Media and Public Affairs, who urged consumers in the State to prepare to pay for the power which would be affordable for the sustenance of the project, emphasized that it would boost the economy of the State.
Director of Operations at the Bayelsa Electricity Company Limited, Engineer Steve Bubagha who conducted newsmen round the facility on behalf of the Managing Director, Engineer Olice Kemenanabo said with construction works at 85%, the project would be completed and delivered on the December, 2025 scheduled date as the gas turbines would be installed soon.
Governor Douye Diri while inspecting the project site recently reiterated the commitment of the Administration in the State to the provision of uninterrupted power supply before the end of the year from the 60 Megawatts Gas Turbine.
