The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Cross River State Command, Mr. Innocent Etuk gave the advice in Calabar during a Road Walk organized by the Commission to mark this year’s Customer Service Week, with the theme “Mission Possible” which emphasizes the importance of delivering exceptional customer service to Clients.
To mark this year’s Customer Service Week, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps Cross River State Command, Mr. Innocent Etuk said the Command deemed it appropriate to celebrate customers and stakeholders by embarking on a Road Walk as a means to strengthen customer relationships, build loyalty, and drive long-term growth.
”The essence of celebrating them is that, as I said, if there’s any crash or incident resulting in zero deaths, it’s only the living that we can celebrate. The Corp’s mandate is to ensure that people don’t commit offenses that put their lives at risk, so we have to educate them on road safety.”
The FRSC State Commandant emphasized that the Corps’ mandate is to create a safe and motorable environment for road users, and assured that it would continue to intensify its awareness efforts, educating the public on essential road safety tips.
”Ultimately, customer satisfaction is key, as we strive to provide services that ensure road users’ safety and well-being. We celebrate every life saved and are pained by every loss, which is why we’ll continue to prioritize road safety.”
Mr. Victor Ekun, a transporter and FRSC client, commended the Commission for its support to drivers.
However, Mr Ekun suggested that the Corps could further improve its services by being more receptive to drivers’ concerns and fostering a more cordial relationship to alleviate their fears.
”When road safety officers encounter us, we would appreciate it if they could spare a moment to listen and clarify road safety concerns. Let’s work together; with calm communication, we can resolve issues and promote safer roads.”
An Intra state Road Transporter, Mr. Simon Ozagu acknowledged the challenges road safety officers face, but urged them to be more understanding and fair in their dealings with drivers, considering the economic hardships faced by ordinary people.
”We appreciate the officers’ efforts in educating us on road safety and taking the time to explain things clearly. We only plead that they also consider our perspectives and challenges, fostering a mutual understanding.”
Mr. Ozagu urged road users to support road safety efforts by complying with FRSC regulations, ensuring their vehicles are roadworthy, and adhering to traffic rules, thereby collaborating with the Corps to minimize road crashes
