
Staff of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, have been enjoined to embrace change and be open to novel ideas.
Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who gave the advice while declaring open, Strategic Optimization Retreat for Admin and Human Resources Directorate in Port Harcourt Rivers State reminded participants that excellence should not be compromised.
Represented by the the Director Admin and Human resources, Mr. Patrick EKADE, the MD stated that staff training was being prioritized for increased productivity.

The MD advocated integrity, accountability among staff as they strive to enhance Regional Development.
Similarly, Executive Director Finance and Administration EDFA, Alabo Boma Iyaye, insisted that Admin and human resources directorate forms the nucleus of any organization, saying that there was need to build capacity among the staff of the directorate.
Earlier on, the Head Human Resources, Mr. James Edafe explained that the retreat was put up to explore the roles of Human resources as being strategic in moving any organization to the zenith.
He noted that various arms of Human resources, transport, records, Research amongst others were very essential for smooth administration.

Speaking on Strategic Leadership for Optimising Administration and Human Resources in Mandate delivery, a facilitator Dr. Mrs. Offiong Archibong described Human resources as the enabler that revitalizes processes .
Dr. Mrs. Archibong told the Human Resources staff that they need to put up programmes that would equip the entire staff with capacity to develop the region.
According to her, there was need for stakeholders engagement and sustainability to have them buy into the programmes of the commission.
She stated that strategic leadership entails people, process, Technology and being able to put them together to achieve results.

The facilitator maintained that it requires a mindset shift for the staff to position themselves for strategic leadership and sustainability of reforms.
