The Nigerian Copyright Commission, NCC, have apprehended ten persons for pirating literary works worth about ten million naira in the year 2024.

The NCC state Coordinator in charge of Akwa Ibom and Cross River, Mrs Cornellia Ibanga who made this known to Radio Nigeria explained that the commission operates on a zero tolerance to piracy policy.

Mrs Ibanga stated that the feat was achieved through its regular monitoring of bookshops and schools to stem the rising rate of pirated works in the market.

While calling on authors and writers to be vigilant and report cases of infringement to the Commission, Mrs Ibanga noted that the office is open for necessary information on how to protect themselves from pirates.

She urged pirates to desist from unlawful act or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
