Hundreds of children with special needs and their families have benefited from free medical care and humanitarian assistance as the First Lady of Delta State, Deaconess Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori, took the U Matter Charity Foundation’s Free Medical Outreach to the Isoko Federal Constituency.
The outreach, organised through the First Lady’s pet project, the U Matter Charity Foundation, attracted beneficiaries from across the constituency and highlighted the Delta State Government’s commitment to expanding access to healthcare and improving the wellbeing of vulnerable citizens.
The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Mr. Friday Ovoke Warri, and his wife, Mrs. Abigail Warri, joined the First Lady at the event, where they reaffirmed government’s resolve to build a more inclusive and compassionate society through targeted social intervention programmes.
Addressing beneficiaries, Deaconess Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori reiterated her commitment to promoting inclusive healthcare, assuring that children with special needs and other vulnerable groups would continue to receive quality medical attention, care, and social support through the U Matter Charity Foundation.
She stressed that every child deserves access to quality healthcare, dignity, and opportunities to thrive regardless of physical or developmental challenges.
Speaking at the event, the Isoko South Council Chairman, Mr. Friday Ovoke Warri, described the outreach as a timely humanitarian intervention that reflects the Oborevwori administration’s people-centred approach to governance.
According to him, initiatives such as the medical outreach complement government efforts to improve the lives of the less privileged while fostering a more caring and inclusive society.
Community leaders, parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders praised the initiative, describing it as impactful and life-changing. They commended the U Matter Charity Foundation for consistently addressing the healthcare needs of children with special needs and restoring hope to vulnerable families across Delta State.
The outreach featured free medical consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and other essential healthcare services aimed at improving the health and quality of life of children with special needs.
In addition, the U Matter Charity Foundation distributed wheelchairs to children with mobility challenges, providing many of them with renewed independence and hope for a better future.
Beneficiaries also received food items, educational materials, electronic learning devices, and other relief materials, further easing the burden on families caring for children with special needs.
