Rivers State government says efforts are being made to provide portable water for residents of the State.
The Commissioner for Water Resources Rivers State, Mr. Tamunosisi Gogojaja said, while the plans are on, residents should take precautionary measure about the water they use and drink.
The Commissioner who had a media chat with managers of media houses in the State cautioned that exposure of sachet and bottle water to sunlight was injurious to health as heat melts plastics and nylon.
Mr. Gogojaja appealed to the media houses to collaborate with the Rivers State government to sensitize members of the public on the dangers of bad water which include organ damage.
The Commissioner said the Ministry will embark on water campaign on the 15th of October which is observed as a global hand watching day.
