NDDC DEDICATES NEW HEADQUARTERS TO GOD

Christians have been enjoined to imbibe the culture of thanksgiving to attract more blessings from God. 

The Interim Administrator, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Mr. Efiong Akwa made the emphasis during a thanksgiving Service and dedication of the New NDDC headquarters at Marine Base, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. 

The Thanksgiving cum dedication service which was put together by Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Christian Fellowship, was to appreciate God for the successful completion of the headquarters and to dedicate same to God. 

 While speaking to the congregation, Mr. Akwa, noted that it was by God’s grace that the building was completed after many years of delay. 

“Except the Lord builds a house, the builders build but in vain; That is why we have come here to surrender and thank God for preserving us and giving us peace in Rivers State and indeed, the Niger Delta region.”

He emphasized the need to thank God for keeping the staff of the commission through turbulent times.

The Chief executive officer of the Interventionist agency who called on the International Oil companies to remit what  is due the Commission, felt bad that the commission has not been able to pay its contractors. 

“In the year 2019/2020, many people lost their lives in Nigeria, may their souls rest in peace, but in NDDC, God provided shelter for over ninety nine percent of our staff.”

“So, we have every reason to come back and say thank you.”

“Thank you Lord for keeping us, thank you for keeping our state.”

“We have seen that there is peace in Rivers State, there is peace in the region.

South-South is the only region that is relatively peaceful.”

Similarly, the Special Adviser on Technical Matters to the Interim Administrator, Engr. James Ubong who gave the exhortation, described the movement to the new headquarters as a dream come true. 

Mr. Ubong urged the staff to be thankful to God for keeping both the staff and the commission. 

He encouraged the workers to stand in the gap for the commission and be diligent in their duties to enable the Interventionist agency fulfill its mandates.

The Special Adviser, who led the attendees in a session of prayers, condemned planning evil against fellow staff with the intention to bring them down. 

“Don’t do something for Interim Administrator to see, IA is a human being, but whatever you do in secret your father which is in heaven will reward you.”

“The hand of the Lord will come upon you.”

“Help will come upon your children”

“The Lord will answer you. “

Mr. Ubong admonished the members of the Christian fellowship to be humble while interceding for the commission.

 He told members of the Christian body not to be carried away by having the privilege to pray for the commission. 

In a remark, the Director Administration, Dr. Charles Akpan thanked the members of NDDC Christian fellowship for their efforts and assured them of the support of management. 

Dr. Akpan appreciated both staff and management for taking out time to pray together for the progress of the commission. 

Present at the event were NDDC Directors and other members of staff.

High point of the service was praise and worship session.
