NDDC TO SINK SOLAR POWERED BOREHOLE ACROSS THE REGION, HOLDS SUMMIT

The Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku  says management  has taken decision to provide solar powered borehole in communities in Niger Delta Region. 

Dr. Ogbuku who made this known during a world press conference on forthcoming Niger Delta Stakeholders summit in Port Harcourt Rivers State, admitted that outbreak of cholera has become a challenge, as such the commission would also secure cholera vaccines to ensure that people of the region would not be taken unawares. 

He explained that Light up Niger Delta Solar powered street light scheme was ongoing and assured that it would get to all the communities in the region. 

The MD who told Journalists that the commission inaugurated some key projects recently maintained that more of similar projects were contained in twenty twenty four budget of the commission. 

On the Summit Proper, the Chief Executive Officer of NDDC said that it was put up to  bring together all  key players in Niger Delta region to discuss on how the Region will be part of Renewed Hope Agenda of  President Bola Tinubu. 

The Managing Director who said that prior to the Summit, the commission has interfaced with the youths, women and elders of the region, made it clear, that the Summit was not primarily about NDDC, but about the region, though NDDC was championing the move as a vehicle to bring  the people of the region together. 

The NDDC boss while calling  on investors and International Oil Companies  to come and invest in the region to create Job opportunities  stated that  the Summit would also  look at NIGER DELTA master plan to determine if it was  due for change and review. 

Expected at the event are President Bola Tinubu, former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Senate President, all National Assembly members from Niger Delta region, Traditional Rulers, technocrats, captains of industries and other major stakeholders in the region.
